Ms, Pampe came and showed us how to use the new Dash robots! Very fun!
The kids made geometric shapes with toothpicks & play doh, & then created Chatterpix videos pretending to be the voice of the shapes.
Reading with our buddies in Ms. Hanley's kindergarten class!
Our kids did a fabulous job being attentive listeners as Ms. Alleman's kindergarteners read the ABC books they recently finished writing. After that, each kindergartener chose a book to be read. It's always so much fun to hang with out little buddies!
So many fun things in the last few weeks: The Fall Party, Halloween, a STEM E-Slot led by Ms. Whipple, and much, much more!
In this science experiment, we were adding heat to different materials (by floating a plastic cup with the material) inside a cup containing hot water). The kids observed the results when we tried to melt a piece of butter, a chocolate chip, a piece of wax, and a pebble. Ask your kiddo about the results
In math, we've started multiplication. Here are some kids working on their "Multiplication Skyline" - for which they had to create buildings from graph paper (or draw buildings with a ruler) and then determine the corresponding multiplication problem (the # of rows of squares or windows multiplied by the number of squares or windows in each row). We'll have these up in the hallway sometime soon. Come check it out!
Here are our 3rd graders reading to their adorable kindergarten buddies! If you don't see your kiddo, that means that he or she was paired with a kindergartener on the "No Publish" list, which meant I was unable to take a picture.
Here are some shots of last week's awesome E-Slot during which some parents came in & led activities related to the 3-D printer. So cool!! If anyone else wants to help with an E-Slot, please let me know. We're always looking for great enrichment opportunities!
Here are some cute shots of kids who have been Student of the Week or Teacher for a Day in the last couple of weeks.
I'm amazed how well the kids are adjusting to the flexible seating!
